We’re six women who like being outside. We’re not professional adventurers. We’re not especially hardcore. But we’ve all been shaped by our experiences in the northern wilds, and by the female role models who have given us the skills and confidence to get out there.

Our goal is twofold: to set aside time in our own lives for empowering, all-female adventures in the wilderness, and to give teenage girls the opportunity to do the same. To that end, we’…re embarking on the first of many journeys this August: a three-week canoe trip on the Spatsizi and Upper Stikine rivers in northern British Columbia. We’re using the trip to raise money for programs that bring girls who wouldn’t otherwise have the chance into the backcountry, where they’ll learn skills to help them succeed in all aspects of life.
